Youth Inspiring Palmerston

Did you know the City of Palmerston has one of the youngest populations in the country, with an average age of just 28?

With so many young residents, Council takes young people’s views very seriously, and has set up a youth advisory committee to make sure they keep their finger on the youth pulse.

Meeting every third Thursday at the City’s Library, Youth Inspiring Palmerston (Y.I.P) welcomes all Palmerston residents aged 12 - 25 to help make sure the City’s youngest voices are heard.

From tackling youth social issues to planning new initiatives and getting involved with Council programs, activities and events - Y.I.P aims to empower the next generation to get involved in the community, while providing positive future pathways.
